Mach Industries Wins DIU Contract to Develop Atlas Runway-Independent Long-Range Naval Drone

Mach Industries announced on June 16 that it has been awarded a Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) contract as aircraft integrator for the Runway Independent Maritime Expeditionary Strike (RIMES) program. The company will develop the Atlas UAS, capable of carrying 1,000-lb munitions over a 1,400-nautical-mile range and operating from destroyers without a runway, using Whisper Aero's JetFoil hybrid-electric propulsion technology to reduce acoustic signatures.
