UK MOD Commits Over £2 Million to PYRAMID Open Avionics Architecture for Drones, Swarms, and GCAP Fighter Programme
UK Defence Innovation (UKDI) has awarded more than £2 million to four companies to integrate the PYRAMID open avionics reference architecture into drones and mission systems. Led by the RAF Rapid Capabilities Office, the Phase 2 competition aims to cut the time and cost of adding new capabilities across platforms, including the sixth-generation GCAP fighter jet programme developed jointly by the UK, Italy, and Japan.
