DJI Launches Mic Mini 2S Wireless Microphone with Proprietary AI Noise Reduction and 32-Bit Float On-Board Recording
DJI officially launched the DJI Mic Mini 2S on July 2, 2025 — a new compact wireless microphone system supporting up to four transmitters and one receiver. Key features include 32-bit float on-board recording, 28-hour looped internal storage, a quad-transmitter/single-receiver configuration, direct integration with the DJI OsmoAudio ecosystem, and a proprietary AI noise-reduction model developed in-house by DJI.
Pricing
- DJI Mic Mini 2S (1 receiver + 2 transmitters, with charging case): CNY 1,199 — includes one set of DJI Mic Mini 2S multi-color magnetic front covers
- DJI Mic Mini 2S (1 receiver + 1 transmitter): CNY 629
- DJI Mic Mini 2S Mobile Edition (1 receiver + 1 transmitter, with charging case): CNY 629
- DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter (standalone): CNY 399
- Artist Collaboration Edition – "Timeless Series" Magnetic Front Cover: CNY 199
Design and Build
The DJI Mic Mini 2S transmitter weighs just approximately 12 grams. It features a detachable, rotatable magnetic clip and a swappable magnetic front cover. The transmitter comes standard in two colorways — "Obsidian Black" and "Cloud White" — with eight additional front cover colors and five windscreen fur colors available for purchase separately. The transmitter includes 14.5 GB of internal storage, supporting up to 28 hours of looped on-board recording at the default 24-bit setting.
32-Bit Float Recording and Dual-Mode Files
The transmitter supports 32-bit float on-board recording, delivering a significantly wider dynamic range — capturing everything from whispers to sudden loud bursts without clipping or distortion. Recorded files are available in two modes: a processed file ready for immediate output, and a raw file that preserves maximum flexibility for post-production work.
The transmitter can also function as a standalone audio recorder for meetings, interviews, lectures, or spontaneous note-taking. Without requiring an external receiver, it connects directly to DJI imaging devices including the Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6 via the DJI OsmoAudio ecosystem.
Quad-Transmitter Support and Multi-Channel Recording
The DJI Mic Mini 2S receiver supports simultaneous connection of up to four transmitters — including backward compatibility with first-generation and Mic Mini 2 transmitters — and offers mono, stereo, and four-channel recording modes. In four-channel mode, each transmitter outputs an independent audio track, providing greater flexibility for detailed multi-track editing and mixing in post-production.
The receiver is compatible with cameras, smartphones, computers, and tablets. When connected to Sony cameras via the DJI Mic series hot shoe adapter, it enables four-channel independent digital audio capture and supports camera-powered operation with synchronized power on/off. Transmitters also support Bluetooth direct connection to smartphones — no receiver required — for compatibility with third-party shooting or live-streaming apps. When used with the camera receiver, wireless range reaches up to 400 meters.
DJI Proprietary AI Noise Reduction
DJI highlights that the Mic Mini 2S is equipped with a proprietary AI noise-reduction model, offering two selectable levels of noise suppression:
- Light noise reduction: Designed for quieter indoor environments, effectively eliminating background sounds such as fans, air conditioning, and room reverberation
- Strong noise reduction: Engineered for noisy outdoor settings, significantly suppressing traffic noise, horns, and other ambient sounds to ensure clear, intelligible vocal capture
Battery Life
- Transmitter battery life: up to 11 hours per charge
- Receiver battery life: up to 10 hours per charge
- Combined with a fully charged charging case: total runtime up to approximately 40 hours
- Fast-charge support: 5 minutes of charging delivers approximately 1 hour of use
The transmitter automatically enters sleep mode when no receiver signal is detected and wakes upon reconnection, eliminating the need for frequent manual power cycling during extended wear. When the receiver is connected to a smartphone, it can draw power from the phone; when connected to an external power source via USB-C, it can simultaneously charge the connected smartphone — making it well-suited for extended use cases such as live streaming and multi-person podcast recording.
