ERC System Unveils 'Victor' Heavy-Lift Cargo Drone at ILA Berlin 2026, Targeting Military Logistics with 2028 Delivery
European drone manufacturer ERC System has officially unveiled the 'Victor' heavy-lift unmanned cargo system at ILA Berlin Air Show 2026. The dual-use eVTOL platform uses a lift-and-cruise architecture to carry up to 250 kg of payload over 300 km at 250 km/h. First deliveries are targeted for 2028, aiming to close a critical gap in European unmanned military resupply capability.

Highlights

ERC System Unveils 'Victor' Heavy-Lift Cargo Drone, Targeting Military Resupply and Critical Logistics
European drone company ERC System officially announced the launch of the Victor heavy-lift unmanned aircraft system (UAS) on Wednesday — a dual-use cargo UAV designed for defence, commercial logistics, and disaster relief operations.
World Premiere at ILA Berlin Air Show 2026
Victor made its public debut at ILA Berlin Air Show 2026, where ERC positioned the platform as a scalable, rapidly deployable solution to address existing capability gaps — particularly the need for unmanned aerial delivery of payloads exceeding 200 kg to locations with little or no supporting infrastructure.
Core Performance Specifications
Victor is designed to carry a maximum payload of 250 kg over a range of 300 km at a cruising speed of 250 km/h (approximately 135 knots). The aircraft employs a lift-and-cruise eVTOL architecture — taking off and landing vertically before transitioning to fixed-wing forward flight — enabling access to austere locations while delivering significantly higher speed, range, and cargo-cycle efficiency compared to pure multirotor designs.
Addressing Europe's Military Airlift Gap
ERC Chief Commercial Officer Maximilian Oligschläger said: "Over the past 18 months, we have been approached by both military and civilian operators asking us to apply our experience building the EU's heaviest unmanned eVTOL, 'Romeo', to the heavy-lift cargo drone segment."
He added: "We combined the technical learnings from our crewed programme, 'Charlie', with deep user-need insights. The conclusions were very clear: high payload, long range, high cruising speed, and operational flexibility are the critical requirements. Victor integrates all of these into a single platform with the versatility to support a wide range of mission-critical scenarios."
European military decision-makers currently face a shared challenge: no available unmanned platform can transport meaningful quantities of supplies at the required distance and speed to effectively support frontline forces. When ground routes are blocked and manned air transport is too risky, there is currently no alternative. Victor is designed to change that — it can carry up to two standard pallets and deliver cargo via airdrop, eliminating the need to land in unfavourable environments.
2028 Delivery Target
ERC has set its first delivery milestone for 2028 — an ambitious timeline that only a handful of European companies are positioned to achieve.
Oligschläger noted: "Given our six years of experience building the EU's heaviest electric aircraft, combined with strategic partnerships focused specifically on industrialisation, we are highly confident in our timeline and our ability to close this gap rapidly."
Dual-Use Market Potential
Beyond defence logistics, ERC has identified early demand for Victor across the following sectors:
- Offshore and coastal logistics
- Critical infrastructure supply and maintenance
- Remote industrial operations
- Civil disaster relief
The company is working closely with specific partners in each of these verticals — including stakeholders from its existing crewed 'Charlie' programme — to refine the product and prepare it for rapid entry into service.
