Seawork 2026 Maritime Exhibition to Spotlight Marine Robotics and AI Applications
Seawork, one of the UK's most prominent commercial maritime and workboat exhibitions, will return to Southampton from June 9–11, 2026, combining an international trade show, a conference program, and live on-water demonstrations.
Sustainability, Technology, and Innovation
This year's agenda covers multiple critical topics for the maritime industry, including sustainability, workforce skills, technology, and innovation.
Several sessions will focus on ongoing maritime research and technological developments in the Solent region. The University of Southampton will present its "Showcase of Maritime Innovation in the Solent," timed to coincide with the launch of its new Centre for Green Maritime Innovation. This industry-led initiative will provide facilities and expertise for testing zero-carbon and energy-efficiency technologies while reducing the commercialization risks associated with these innovations.
The session will also cover the University of Southampton's research in autonomous systems and marine robotics, as well as maritime training and career development pathways.
AI at Sea Conference Track
Nigel Taylor, CEO of Southampton-based PerformOS, will host the "AI at Sea" conference track for the second consecutive year, focusing on the practical adoption of AI in commercial maritime enterprises.
"AI is evolving at a rapid pace, but for many businesses the biggest challenge remains knowing where to start, what's genuinely useful, and what's just hype," Taylor said. "Our track is designed to be pragmatic, accessible, and directly relevant to commercial maritime businesses. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what AI can already achieve today, what realistic next steps are possible in the near term, and how companies can take a sensible first step."
Live On-Water Demos: ROVs, Sonar, and Drone-Assisted Search and Rescue
Poole-based Professional Rescue will deliver a technical briefing followed by live on-water demonstrations of ROV (remotely operated vehicle), sonar, and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) systems in water-based search and rescue scenarios. The demonstrations will also cover the training competencies and certifications required to deploy these systems.
Training and Careers Day
Seawork 2026 will also host a Training & Careers Day organized by Maritime Solent, giving young students the opportunity to connect with maritime employers and professionals and explore career opportunities in the commercial maritime sector.
Organizer Highlights Exhibition Value
Melissa Woolcock, Marketing Director at organizer Mercator Media, said: "Seawork brings together the people, ideas, and expertise that drive the commercial maritime industry forward. The event has enormous significance for Southampton — not only because of the international visitors it attracts, but because it reinforces the city's role as a hub for maritime commerce and knowledge."
In addition to the exhibition, the event will offer networking opportunities, live on-water demonstrations, and direct access to experts across various maritime disciplines.
