Ukraine-U.S. Joint SeaHive 5.0 USV Debuts at Eurosatory 2026: Carries 6 FPV Drones, 555 km Combat Radius
Ukrainian firm Depthon Systems and U.S.-based Red Cat have jointly developed the SeaHive 5.0 unmanned surface vessel (USV), unveiled at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris. The 5-metre autonomous craft can carry and launch up to six aerial drones, reaches 40 knots, endures 72 hours at sea, and operates within a 300-nautical-mile (555 km) radius. Unlike conventional sea drone kamikazes, it is designed as a reusable drone-carrier platform.

Highlights
- Depthon Systems (Ukraine) and Red Cat (U.S.) jointly unveiled the SeaHive 5.0 USV at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris.
- The 5-metre autonomous vessel carries up to 6 aerial drones — 5 FPV attack drones and 1 relay/recon drone — via modular deck launch bays.
- SeaHive 5.0 reaches a top speed of 40 knots, carries 250 kg of payload, and has a combat radius of 300 nautical miles (555 km) with 72-hour endurance.
- The primary strike payload, the Hurtang-10 FPV drone, carries a 2–3 kg warhead, flies at 140 km/h, and engages targets up to 40 km away.
- The vessel's low-profile composite hull is designed to minimize radar cross-section, and it is equipped with electro-optical, thermal imaging sensors, and satellite communications.
Ukraine-U.S. Joint SeaHive 5.0 USV Debuts at Eurosatory 2026: Carries 6 FPV Drones, 555 km Combat Radius
Ukrainian defense technology firm Depthon Systems and U.S. company Red Cat have partnered to develop a new unmanned surface vessel (USV) called the SeaHive 5.0, designed to significantly extend the operational reach of FPV drones beyond the coastline. The system made its public debut at the Eurosatory 2026 defense exhibition in Paris.
A Reusable Airborne Drone Carrier at Sea
Unlike conventional kamikaze-style maritime attack drones, the SeaHive 5.0 is positioned primarily as a reusable drone-carrier platform. The 5-metre autonomous vessel features modular launch bays on deck, enabling it to carry and deploy up to six aerial drones: five FPV attack drones and one relay or reconnaissance drone.
Core Performance Specifications
According to published specifications, the SeaHive 5.0 offers the following key performance figures:
- Maximum speed: 40 knots
- Payload capacity: 250 kg
- Endurance at sea: up to 72 hours
- Combat radius: approximately 300 nautical miles (555 km)
Navigation and Communications Systems
The navigation suite employs a hybrid GNSS and Inertial Navigation System (INS), with built-in anti-jamming waypoint logic to maintain operation in electronic warfare environments. Communications are secured via an encrypted mesh command-and-control link, with a dedicated relay drone extending coverage during strike missions.
Primary Strike Asset: Hurtang-10 FPV Attack Drone
The main offensive payload is the Hurtang-10 FPV attack drone, with the following specifications:
- Warhead payload: 2–3 kg
- Maximum flight speed: 140 km/h
- Maximum strike range: 40 km
The relay drone provides an airborne loiter time of approximately 45 minutes.
Hull Design and Sensor Suite
The SeaHive 5.0 features a low-profile composite hull engineered to minimize radar cross-section (RCS). The vessel is also equipped with electro-optical and thermal imaging sensors, as well as satellite communications capability.
Alongside the SeaHive 5.0 at Eurosatory 2026, the joint team also showcased a Hellcat reconnaissance drone developed on Red Cat's Black Widow platform, further demonstrating the system's intelligence-gathering capabilities.
