TEKEVER and Sapient Perception Sign MoU to Test 10K Camera Technology on Drones
TEKEVER and Sapient Perception have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the integration and evaluation of an advanced 10K camera system on unmanned aerial vehicles.
Partnership Framework Formalized at International Drone Show
The MoU was signed during the International Drone Show held in Odense, Denmark, establishing a technical collaboration framework between the two companies. Initial activities will include the procurement of Sapient Perception's 10K camera system and an assessment of its mechanical, electrical, software, and data interface compatibility on select TEKEVER platforms.
Flight Testing Planned at West Wales Airport
The collaboration is expected to advance to flight testing and operational validation, with trials to be conducted at TEKEVER's facility at West Wales Airport in the United Kingdom. The primary objective is to understand how ultra-high-resolution wide-area sensing technology can enhance the effectiveness of aerial ISR missions.
Key Capabilities of the Sapient Perception 10K Sensor
Sapient Perception's 10K sensor is designed to overcome the traditional trade-off between coverage area and image resolution, enabling operators to monitor larger areas while retaining the detail needed to detect, classify, and track targets. The system employs the IGNITE AI framework to process intelligence directly at the edge, supporting rapid decision-making in mission-critical environments.
Strong Alignment with TEKEVER's ISR Strategy
TEKEVER focuses on AI-driven autonomous systems and scalable ISR operations. The sensor technology aligns closely with the company's work across defence, security, maritime surveillance, border protection, critical infrastructure monitoring, and search and rescue.
Mark Baxter, Senior Business Development Manager at TEKEVER, said: "This MoU gives us a clear framework to assess how Sapient Perception's sensor technology can complement TEKEVER's battle-proven uncrewed systems. Wide-area awareness and onboard intelligence are increasingly central to the future of ISR, and we look forward to exploring this capability's potential through testing and evaluation."
Michael Messerschmidt, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Sapient Perception, added: "TEKEVER is an ideal partner to evaluate our 10K camera system in demanding operational environments. Our sensor is designed to give operators greater coverage, better resolution, and actionable intelligence — and this partnership is an important step in demonstrating its value on advanced aerial platforms."
The MoU lays the groundwork for subsequent technical evaluations, joint demonstrations, and future capability development discussions between the two companies.
