Netherlands Joins US-Led UAS & C-UAS Marketplace Initiative
The Netherlands has formally joined the US-led UAS & C-UAS Marketplace Initiative, a virtual centralized procurement platform for drone and counter-drone systems. Lieutenant General Harold Boekholt, Director of the Netherlands Defence Materiel Organisation, signed the agreement at the Eurosatory defence exhibition in Paris. The platform now counts eight international member nations, including Denmark, Finland, France, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

The Netherlands has announced plans to join a US-led virtual centralized procurement platform dedicated to unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-UAS (C-UAS) solutions. The platform currently has eight international member nations participating.
Lieutenant General Harold Boekholt, Director of the Netherlands Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), formally signed the UAS & C-UAS Marketplace Initiative participation agreement last week at the Eurosatory international defence exhibition held in Paris, France.
How the Platform Works and Who Is Involved
Under the initiative, participating nations will initially procure US-manufactured drone and counter-drone systems. Future plans call for member nations to contribute their own resources and products to the platform, broadening the range of available solutions.
Current participants, alongside the Netherlands and the United States, include:
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Lithuania
- United Kingdom
- Sweden
Officials stated that additional countries are welcome to join the platform going forward.
Netherlands and Sweden Also Sign Smart-L Radar Agreement
On the sidelines of Eurosatory, the Netherlands and Sweden concluded a separate agreement covering the procurement of the Smart-L radar system from Thales Netherlands, further deepening defence cooperation between the two nations.
