EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH) has announced that it has been selected, together with its partners Kwoon Chung Smart Mobility Co., Ltd and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, as one of the inaugural pilot projects under Hong Kong's Low-Altitude Economy Regulatory Sandbox X (Sandbox X) for non-traditional aircraft applications.

In an official press release, EHang stated: "Hong Kong serves as a vital gateway connecting the Greater Bay Area with global markets, and represents an ideal testbed for innovative low-altitude economy development. Regulatory Sandbox Provides Policy Testing Environment
Hong Kong's Low-Altitude Economy Regulatory Sandbox X is designed to provide a controlled regulatory testing environment for non-traditional aircraft, including electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles. It allows operators to pilot innovative applications in real-world scenarios, helping regulators gather data and refine the relevant regulatory framework.
EHang's selection signals official recognition by Hong Kong authorities of the company's EH216-series autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) technology, paving the way for further commercial deployment across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
