Eurosatory 2026: Turkey's ASELSAN Signs C-UAS Cooperation LOI with Latvia's VIC TEC
Turkish defense electronics giant ASELSAN has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Latvian USV and interceptor drone manufacturer VIC TEC during Eurosatory 2026. The agreement covers collaboration in sensor and effector technologies to strengthen Latvia's counter-UAS (C-UAS) defense capabilities.

Highlights
- ASELSAN signed a Letter of Intent with Latvia's VIC TEC at Eurosatory 2026 to co-develop C-UAS sensor and effector solutions.
- ASELSAN's DRONEDEF system integrates four subsystems — İHTAR, GÖKBERK, KORKUT 100/25 SB, and EJDERHA — providing hard-kill, laser, and electromagnetic counter-drone effects.
- ASELSAN showcased the KALKAN II/M vehicle-mounted search radar and the Steel Dome layered air defense architecture at the exhibition.
- The ASELSAN–VIC TEC agreement reflects Turkey's strategic push to deepen defense partnerships with NATO Baltic allies amid rising small-drone threats.
ASELSAN and Latvia's VIC TEC Sign C-UAS Cooperation Agreement
Turkish defense electronics leader ASELSAN has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Latvian unmanned surface vessel (USV) platform and interceptor drone manufacturer VIC TEC on the sidelines of Eurosatory 2026. The two companies will pursue in-depth cooperation in the sensor and effector domains, with the aim of bolstering Latvia's overall counter-UAS (C-UAS) defense posture.
ASELSAN Showcases Multiple C-UAS Systems at Eurosatory
At this year's Eurosatory exhibition, ASELSAN presented a range of advanced defense systems, with key highlights including:
- KALKAN II/M: A vehicle-mounted mobile search radar capable of detecting low-altitude threats while on the move.
- DRONEDEF: An integrated C-UAS concept system combining four complementary subsystems that deliver hard-kill, directed-energy, and electromagnetic effects against evolving drone threats:
- İHTAR Anti-Drone System
- GÖKBERK Laser Weapon System
- KORKUT 100/25 SB Anti-Drone Weapon System
- EJDERHA High-Power Electromagnetic C-UAS System
ASELSAN also displayed its Steel Dome layered air defense architecture and the KORAL AD mobile radar electronic warfare system, demonstrating broad capabilities across modern air defense and electromagnetic warfare domains.
Deepening Defense Ties in the Baltic Region
The agreement with VIC TEC reflects ASELSAN's strategic push to expand defense partnerships with Baltic and NATO European allies. As small drone threats become increasingly prevalent in modern conflicts, the ability to integrate detection and countermeasure systems has emerged as a critical priority for national defense programs.
