Eurosatory 2026: LACROIX, Bertin, and MC2 Partner to Upgrade S-KAPS System Against Drone Attacks
French defense companies LACROIX, Bertin Technologies, and MC2 Technologies have jointly unveiled an upgraded S-KAPS armored vehicle protection system. The enhanced system integrates multi-sensor analysis and drone interception technology to deliver a hemispherical protective bubble against drone threats in modern asymmetric warfare. New additions include the HADDES portable RF drone detection sensor and the PeriSight Top Attack 360° passive infrared electro-optical solution.

Highlights
- LACROIX, Bertin Technologies, and MC2 Technologies jointly unveiled an upgraded S-KAPS armored vehicle protection system ahead of Eurosatory 2026.
- The upgraded S-KAPS adds two new sensors: the HADDES portable RF drone detection unit and the PeriSight Top Attack 360° passive infrared electro-optical solution.
- The system's protection coverage has been expanded to a full hemispherical shield, specifically designed to counter top-attack drone threats in asymmetric warfare.
- S-KAPS was originally developed in 2016 as the AOS system; the new generation is built around a next-generation universal computing unit running protective algorithms.
- The upgraded system will be publicly demonstrated at Eurosatory 2026, a major international defense and security exhibition.
Eurosatory 2026: LACROIX, Bertin, and MC2 Partner to Upgrade S-KAPS System Against Drone Attacks
French defense companies LACROIX, Bertin Technologies, and MC2 Technologies have joined forces to unveil an upgraded S-KAPS system designed to protect armored fighting vehicles from drone attacks.
Multi-Sensor Integration for a Full-Coverage Protective Bubble
In an official statement, LACROIX noted: "By combining multi-sensor analysis and drone interception technology, this new technological component of the S-KAPS system provides armored forces with a complete and modular protective bubble, purpose-built to address asymmetric threats in modern combat environments."
The Evolution of the S-KAPS System
The S-KAPS system traces its origins to 2016, when LACROIX introduced the first-generation AOS system, which automatically linked a series of laser detectors and obscurant systems through a dedicated control unit.
Building on years of operational experience and in response to urgent new threats emerging from current conflicts, LACROIX developed a next-generation S-KAPS system capable of delivering a more modular and adaptive protection solution. The new system is built around a next-generation universal computing unit running protective algorithms, enabling flexible integration of different sensor types and expanding coverage to a full hemispherical shield.
Enhanced Drone Detection Capabilities
To further strengthen the S-KAPS system's counter-drone performance, LACROIX has invested in R&D over the past two years to incorporate additional detection technologies:
- Laser Detection: The original core technology, retained and continued
- Acoustic Detection: Integration of the Metravib Pilar system
- HADDES: A portable RF drone detection sensor, newly added to the system
- PeriSight Top Attack 360°: A passive infrared electro-optical solution designed to protect armored vehicles against the most advanced drone top-attack threats
The integration of these technologies enables the S-KAPS system to more comprehensively detect and respond to drone top-attack threats from all directions.
Looking Ahead to Eurosatory 2026
The upgraded system will be publicly showcased at the upcoming Eurosatory 2026 international defense and security exhibition, highlighting the latest advances by the European defense industry in counter-drone technology.
