Terma and Diehl Defence Sign Cooperation Agreement Focused on C-UAS and Multiple Defence Domains
Danish defence technology company Terma has announced the signing of a formal cooperation agreement with Germany's Diehl Defence, with the two companies set to deepen collaboration across several defence domains, including counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS).
A Decade of Collaboration as the Foundation
According to a joint statement issued by both companies, Terma and Diehl Defence have worked together on defence programmes for more than ten years, with a particular focus on ground-based air defence systems and associated missile qualification efforts. That existing partnership has combined Diehl Defence's technical expertise with Terma's extensive track record in maritime, air, land, and joint Command and Control (C2) solutions.
Scoping Future Areas of Cooperation
Dr. Harald Buschek, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Diehl Defence, commented: "Building on our shared track record and technical synergies, Diehl Defence and Terma will further investigate and assess the potential for future joint activities. Specifics will be defined in near-term studies and will encompass space activities, C-UAS, air defence system applications, and cooperation in support of EU-initiated programmes."
C-UAS Emerges as a Key Priority
As drone technology continues to advance rapidly, counter-UAS systems have become one of the most pressing priorities across the global defence industry. The explicit inclusion of C-UAS as a focal area in this agreement signals that European defence companies are actively pooling resources to address an increasingly complex and evolving drone threat environment.
Both companies are expected to launch feasibility studies in the near term to define concrete deliverables across all agreed cooperation domains.
