GAC Group's GOVY Rolls Out First Production AirCab eVTOL, Launches Smart Manufacturing Base in Guangzhou
GOVY, an eVTOL startup incubated by GAC Group, has officially launched its smart manufacturing base in Guangzhou's Huangpu District and rolled out the first production-model GOVY AirCab multirotor eVTOL. The facility is designed for an annual output of 100 aircraft and marks the program's transition from prototype development to industrial-scale production and airworthiness certification.

Highlights
- GOVY, incubated by GAC Group, rolled out its first production-model AirCab multirotor eVTOL at a newly inaugurated smart manufacturing base in Guangzhou's Huangpu District.
- The Guangzhou facility has a planned annual production capacity of 100 aircraft and features a Class 100,000 cleanroom composite workshop and a pulse assembly line with ±0.1 mm positioning accuracy.
- GOVY completed the AirCab's maiden flight on March 20 at Guangzhou's Haixin Sha CBD, validating urban low-altitude mobility performance ahead of the production rollout.
- The company has secured AS9100D aerospace quality management certification and completed static load, endurance, and EMC airworthiness tests on the production model.
- GOVY has filed 264 patents and signed purchase letters of intent with Guangzhou Zhidu Cultural Tourism and Shenzhen Zhongke Tianyu to support capacity ramp-up.
GAC Group's GOVY Rolls Out First Production AirCab eVTOL
GOVY, a low-altitude mobility company incubated by GAC Group, has officially inaugurated its smart manufacturing base in Guangzhou's Huangpu District and celebrated the rollout of the first production-model multirotor eVTOL aircraft — the GOVY AirCab.
Focused on the research, development, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales service of aerial vehicles, GOVY says the milestone marks the AirCab's transition from prototype development into industrial-scale production, airworthiness certification, and commercial deployment.
GOVY founder Su Qingpeng said: "Everything we create is ultimately aimed at making advanced mobility accessible to the public and building a three-dimensional transportation network that benefits the nation and its people."
First Flight Lays Groundwork for Mass Production
Prior to this production rollout, GOVY successfully completed the GOVY AirCab's maiden flight on March 20 of this year at Guangzhou's Haixin Sha CBD, validating the aircraft's suitability for urban low-altitude mobility scenarios. Together, the two milestones demonstrate GOVY's parallel progress in production capacity build-out and certification readiness.
Aviation-Grade Smart Manufacturing Line
Key highlights of GOVY's Guangzhou smart manufacturing base include:
- Composite materials workshop: Built to aviation-grade Class 100,000 cleanroom standards, enabling precision fabrication of carbon fiber components
- Final assembly workshop: Features an innovative pulse production line with positioning accuracy of ±0.1 mm
- Flexible manufacturing architecture: Designed for rapid capacity scaling to meet future demand
Now fully operational, the facility has a planned annual production capacity of 100 aircraft and encompasses an integrated smart manufacturing system covering component sourcing, airframe assembly, performance testing, and final delivery.
To date, GOVY has filed a cumulative total of 264 patents, establishing end-to-end capabilities spanning R&D, smart manufacturing, and production delivery.
An 'Aviation + Automotive' Cross-Industry Manufacturing Model
GOVY has introduced what it calls an "Aviation + Automotive" business model, seeking to combine the strengths of both industries. On one hand, aviation-grade safety standards are applied to ensure flight performance and product reliability; on the other, the mature mass-production supply chains and rigorous quality-control systems of the automotive industry are leveraged to overcome the traditionally high costs and limited civilian scalability of aerospace manufacturing — while also meeting the stringent safety requirements that conventional automotive production cannot satisfy.
This cross-industry integration is designed to give the GOVY AirCab both aviation-level safety and the economies of scale needed for widespread adoption, making it suitable for use cases such as urban low-altitude commuting and short-haul business transfers.
Airworthiness Certification and Quality Management
On the compliance front, GOVY has obtained AS9100D aerospace quality management system certification, a standard covering the full product lifecycle including R&D, manufacturing, testing, and iteration. The production-model GOVY AirCab has also successfully completed several key airworthiness tests, including:
- Full-aircraft static load testing
- System endurance testing
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing
GOVY says it will continue developing subsequent variants in accordance with civil aviation airworthiness requirements, systematically advancing product upgrades, compliance verification flights, and type certification work.
Commercial Deployment and Strategic Partnerships
GOVY has established strategic partnerships with several companies, including Beijing Hengkuan Low-Altitude Technology Development Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Zhidu Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Zhongke Tianyu Low-Altitude Digital Technology Co., Ltd. The partnerships will drive the development of eVTOL demonstration bases and support commercial deployments across low-altitude passenger transport, cultural tourism experiences, and educational promotion.
At a recent signing ceremony, Guangzhou Zhidu Cultural Tourism and Shenzhen Zhongke Tianyu each placed letters of intent to purchase the GOVY AirCab, providing tangible market demand signals to support capacity ramp-up.
GOVY has positioned itself as one of the first players in the sector to establish a complete commercialization pathway — from operational validation and maiden flight to industrial-scale production capability — steadily narrowing the gap between technological innovation and real-world deployment.
