Kalashnikov Group Develops REDUT-UR Short-Range Anti-Drone System
Russia's Kalashnikov Group has unveiled the REDUT-UR, a new counter-UAS system designed to protect fixed sites and designated areas from small drone threats. Combining optical and thermal sensors for all-weather operations, the system can detect, classify, track, and neutralize targets at ranges of 150 to 800 metres, and carries a magazine of 98 unguided rockets in single-use launch containers.

Highlights
- Kalashnikov Group has completed development of the REDUT-UR, a short-range C-UAS system with an effective engagement range of 150 to 800 metres against small drones.
- REDUT-UR uses dual optical and thermal sensors for all-weather, 24/7 detection, classification, threat prioritisation, and target neutralisation.
- The system carries 98 unguided rockets in single-use transport-launch containers fitted with multi-effect warheads.
- The mobile version is mounted on two standard ISO-container-compatible trucks for rapid deployment to forward or fixed positions.
- Kalashnikov Group showcased counter-drone shotgun products at the India Homeland Security Expo in New Delhi, with anti-drone ammunition available for Indian customers.
Kalashnikov Group Develops REDUT-UR Short-Range Anti-Drone System
Russia's Kalashnikov Group has completed development of a new counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) platform designated REDUT-UR, purpose-built to defend fixed installations and specific areas against small drone incursions.
System Capabilities
The REDUT-UR continuously scans its surroundings using both optical (visible-light) and thermal imaging sensors, enabling round-the-clock, all-weather operations. Its core functions include:
- Detection and identification: Detects, recognises, and discriminates between targets and target-like objects
- Threat prioritisation: Ranks detected objects by level of danger
- Tracking and neutralisation: Tracks selected targets and destroys them at ranges of 150 to 800 metres
System Architecture
REDUT-UR comprises two main elements: a combat module and a control station. The mobile configuration is mounted on two trucks fitted with standard ISO container coupling interfaces, allowing for rapid deployment and redeployment.
The system's firepower consists of 98 unguided rockets loaded in single-use transport-launch containers and fitted with multi-effect warheads.
India Market Push
Kalashnikov Group recently participated in the India Homeland Security Expo in New Delhi, where it showcased the Saiga-12K and MP-155 smooth-bore semi-automatic shotguns — both of which have counter-drone applications. The company also noted that anti-drone shotgun shells in various calibres are available for supply to Indian customers.
