Terra Drone and IGG Sign MoU to Advance C-UAS Deployment in the Middle East
Terra Drone Corporation has announced that its group company Terra Inspectioneering B.V. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with International Golden Group L.L.C. (IGG), an Abu Dhabi-headquartered defence and security company and a member of the UAE's EDGE Group.
Partnership Focused on Counter-UAS Systems
Under the terms of the MoU, Terra Drone and IGG will collaborate in the Counter-Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS) domain, with a primary focus on defence applications — including the development of interceptor drones designed for integration into C-UAS platforms.
The two parties will also conduct in-depth research into operational environments, covering sensors, payloads, ground control systems, and radar integration. On the operational and technical cooperation front, they will jointly establish a regional sales framework, maintenance and sustainment capabilities, and operational support structures across the Middle East. The UAE has been identified as the first priority location for joint regional C-UAS system deployment.
IGG's Established Footprint in UAE Defence
IGG currently supplies products and services to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, and various other government defence and security agencies, giving it a well-established presence within the local defence ecosystem.
According to a press release issued by Terra Drone on 7 July 2025, the collaboration will combine IGG's defence industry platform in the Middle East with Terra Drone Group's expertise across interceptor drones, reconnaissance drones, Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) systems, data integration, and operational support — jointly developing C-UAS solutions for military organisations, government agencies, and critical infrastructure operators.
Rising Demand for C-UAS Across the Middle East
As drone threats continue to escalate across the Middle East, procurement demand for counter-drone systems among governments and military agencies is intensifying. The strategic alliance between Terra Drone and IGG not only strengthens both parties' competitive positioning in the regional market, but also reflects a broader trend of international drone industry players actively pursuing opportunities in the Middle East defence sector.
