Romania Bolsters Air Defenses: Merops Counter-UAS System Integrated and SHORAD-VSHORAD Deal Signed with Rafael
Romania has formally integrated the U.S.-supplied Merops counter-drone system into its army's defensive capabilities and, on June 25, signed a framework agreement with Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to procure multiple SHORAD and VSHORAD short-range air defense systems. The acquisitions aim to build comprehensive protection against aerial threats including drones and cruise missiles.
