World's First Certified Commercial Vertiport Approved in UAE, Launching Dubai's Air Taxi Network
The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted regulatory certification to VDX, the world's first purpose-built commercial vertiport, developed by Skyports Infrastructure in partnership with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Located adjacent to Dubai International Airport, VDX features two landing pads, rapid EV charging, a four-storey passenger terminal spanning approximately 3,100 sq m, and capacity for up to 170,000 passengers annually. Three additional vertiports are under construction as part of Dubai's broader air taxi network.
